Description
A heating element converts electrical energy into heat through the process of Joule heating. Electric current through the element encounters resistance, resulting in heating of the element. This process is independent of the direction of current. A kettle is a metal vessel, with a flat bottom, used to heat or boil water and other liquids using a gas fired or electricity powered heat source. Kettles can be heated on a stove top, or by internal electric elements.
